Sweet Potato Purée

Smooth purée · 20 min · 3–4 portions

  • 1 medium sweet potato, peeled & cubed
  • Water or unsalted stock
  1. 1Steam the sweet potato cubes for 12–15 min until very soft.
  2. 2Blend with a splash of the cooking water until silky.
  3. 3Cool to lukewarm and check the temperature before serving.
  4. 4Freeze extras in an ice-cube tray for quick meals.

Swap for butternut squash or carrot using the same method.

Always follow your paediatrician's guidance on allergens and choking-hazard textures. Cook eggs, fish and meat thoroughly and serve food just warm.
