Iron Rice Cereal with Veg Purée

INGREDIENTS
- 2 tbsp iron-fortified baby rice cereal
- Breast milk or formula to mix
- 1 tbsp pumpkin or carrot, steamed & puréed
HOW TO COOK
- 1Mix the rice cereal with warm milk to a smooth, runny paste.
- 2Stir in the steamed pumpkin or carrot purée for vitamins.
- 3Aim for a texture just thicker than milk so baby can lick it off the spoon.
- 4Introduce one new vegetable every 3–4 days.
TIP
HPB suggests iron-fortified cereal as a typical first food, with veg added for vitamin C to help iron absorption.
