Baby Chawanmushi (Veggie Egg Custard)

  • 1 egg
  • 50ml warm water
  • Cooked broccoli, finely chopped
  • Cooked carrot, finely chopped
  1. 1Crack 1 egg into a bowl.
  2. 2Add 50ml warm water.
  3. 3Beat quickly until smooth.
  4. 4Strain through a sieve into a heatproof container.
  5. 5Stir in finely chopped cooked broccoli and carrot.
  6. 6Spoon off any bubbles on top.
  7. 7Cover with cling film.
  8. 8Steam over medium heat about 10 minutes until just set.

Smooth and no teeth needed — packed with iron, protein and veggie goodness.
